Prof. dr. Roy F.P.M. Kruitwagen

Roy Kruitwagen working since 1991 in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the main focus of the Gynaecological Oncology for which he is registered as a Gynecological Oncologist.

He studied medicine at the University of Nijmegen from 1976 to 1983 during his training as a gynecologist at the St. Radboud Hospital in Nijmegen he researched the disease endometriosis. In 1991, simultaneously with the completion of his training as a gynecologist, this study resulted in a promotion "Endometriosis and Retrograde Mestruation". He joined the partnership Gynaecology / Obstetrics of the then Big Ziekengasthuis in 's-Hertogenbosch, but also continued to part-time work within the Gynaecological Oncology pillar of the St. Radboud Hospital in Nijmegen. Until 1998 In 2000 he joined the Department of Gynecology / Obstetrics at the Two Cities Hospital in Tilburg / Waalwijk and was a consultant for the Gynaecological Oncology TQM within the region. In the following period, he was a major initiator in the establishment of a regional partnership for gynecological oncology patients called EYE-TQM (Organization Oncological Gynaecology). Through 10 participating hospitals were thereby made arrangements regarding the care of patients with gynecological malignancy. In 2008 he was appointed as Head of the Gynecology Division - Oncology at the Maastricht University Medical Centre.
