In 2000, Peter Emans graduated to study medicine at the University of Maastricht. In 2007 he was promoted in the field of cartilage research. Training to become an orthopedic surgeon, he studied in Maastricht and Sittard.

After completing his education, he has a Lars Peterson fellowship followed in the field of knee surgery and cartilage regeneration in the USA (Boston, Chicago, San Diego and LA).

He has worked in the MUMC +. Since March 2010 His specialization concerns in particular the arthroscopic surgery and prosthetics of the knee and shoulder.
