In 1998, George Hermus has completed his medical studies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Training to become an orthopedic surgeon, he studied in Maastricht and Veldhoven. After completing his education, he has followed a fellowship in foot and ankle with Prof. Dr. Greta Dereymaeker at University Hospital Antwerp.

Since January 2009 he has been working in the Maastricht University Medical Center. His specialty involves: reconstructive foot surgery in flat / high arches / CMT / Spasticity / other neurological feet / diabetic feet; hallux valgus surgery; arthrodeses (= securing of a joint); ankle prostheses; MTP I dentures and children's foot surgery.
In 2014 he was certified by European Foot and Ankle Society as foot and ankle surgeon.

In addition to his clinical work, he is as educational coordinator closely involved in both regular education of the medical student as AKO (= physician clinical investigator) student.

His scientific interests include the ankle prosthesis prosthesis of the big toe, foot problems DM, foot pressure measurement, development of orthotics and platelet-rich plasma with tendonitis.
