Basic and clinical research


Chris Arts graduated in 1997 as a physiotherapist at the Hogeschool Enschede and then graduate to study kinesiology at the University of Maastricht in 2000 In 2006 he obtained his doctorate in the field of hip revision surgery with calcium phosphate biomaterials. After his PhD, he worked as a clinical research manager in the medical device industry.

He is a scientific staff member, teacher and clinical investigator of the orthopedics department of the MUMC + since 2008. He is also a lecturer at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at TU Eindhoven.

In addition to his involvement in both basic and clinical research, he is closely involved in both regular education of clinical investigator Arts students from Maastricht Biomedical Engineering students from the TU / e. His scientific interests include biomaterials, infection and imaging of bone healing.
