Klinische Epidemiologie & Medical Technology Assessment

The mission of the department of KEMTA is to evaluate the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of existing and innovative interventions within the entire health care continuum, for the purpose of client centeredness and sustainable health care. The department is engaged in the initiation, support and participation of high quality multidisciplinary research.

The majority of the research that is performed within KEMTA takes place in close collaboration with the clinical departments and researchers of the Maastricht UMC+. Besides that, research for third parties takes place. The department of KEMTA carries out its own scientific research aimed at advancing methodology in the fields of clinical epidemiology and health technology assessment.

In the vision document 2016-2020, KEMTA has described its ambitions and goals that are in line with the strategy of the Maastricht UMC+; ‘Gezond leven’.
