Dewi de Waaij received her bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in 2007 and will receive her bachelor degree for Medicine at the VU University of Amsterdam in 2015.
During her internship in 2011 at the laboratory of Immunogenetics at the department of Pathology, she worked on Chlamydia trachomatis infections. She studied genetics that influence the susceptibility and severity of a Chlamydia trachomatisinfection.
In 2012 Dewi started working as a PhD candidate within the Institute for Public Health Genomics (IPHG) at Maastricht University. Her research is mainly focused on the epidemiology, immunogenetics and microbiological aspects of sexual transmitted infections.
