The azM Supervisory Board oversees the affairs of the Maastricht hospital in general and of the azM Board of Directors in particular. The Supervisory Board appoints the members of the azM Board of Directors and evaluates their performance.
The azM Supervisory Board consists of the following members:
Prof. R. Dassen, chairman of the Supervisory Board
Prof. Roger Dassen was appointed chairman of the Supervisory Board on January 1st 2020 (he has been a member of the Supervisory Board since October 1st 2019). Prof Dassen is currently Chief Financial Officer at chip-machine manufacturer ASML in Veldhoven. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board at De Nederlandsche Bank [independent central bank DNB] and Professor Auditing at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam [a Dutch university]
Drs. T. van Elzakker, member of the Supervisory Board
Drs. T. van Elzakker was appointed member of the Supervisory Board on 1st Augustus 2022. Drs. T. Elzakker is currently Chief Executive Officer at MILabs B.V., a company that manufactures molecular imaging scanners which are used for preclinical research into new medicines.
Mw. ir. ing. C. Moonen, member of the Supervisory Board
Mrs. Ir. Ing. C. Moonen is currently a member of the Senate [Eerste Kamer] of the Dutch Parliament for political party D66 and Chief Executive Officer of the trade organisation Koninklijke NLingenieurs. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of business association VNO-NCW.
Drs. J-P. Rutten, member of the Supervisory Board
Drs. J-P Rutten studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam and did his Medical Science training at Maastricht UMC+. Since 2015, he is Chief Executive Officer at Gulpener Beer Brewery.
Prof. dr. M. de Smet, member of the Supervisory Board
Prof. dr. M. de Smet is currently medical and scientific manager and division president of the Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine Division at University Medical Center Utrecht. She is also active at management level. The appointment of Professor De Smet will contribute to the substantive knowledge desired by the Supervisory Board when it comes to the quality and safety of patient care.
