Your hospital visit
This page gives you more information about arrangements for an appointment at the outpatient clinic. This could be an appointment at the hospital, but it could also be a consultation by telephone or video call.
Please come to your hospital appointment alone if you can. If this is not possible, bring no more than one person with you.
If you are being admitted to hospital for an operation or as an inpatient and you would like to know what will happen on the day of your operation and/or admission
Types of appointment
There are three possible types of consultation with your doctor at Maastricht UMC+. Your treating physician will discuss with you what is the best option.
• Appointment at the hospital
• Telephone appointment
• Video appointment
Entering the hospital
Please do not enter the hospital more than 10 minutes before your appointment. If you arrive earlier, please wait outside until the appropriate time.
Following routes and keeping your distance
You can keep to your route through the hospital by following the lines on the floor. In places where patients or staff members cannot pass at the same time, standing areas have been prepared where you can maintain a distance of 1.5 metres from the other person.
Please note that the route description in your appointment letter may have been altered!
In the consultation and examination room
Our staff wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for physical examinations. They do this both for your health and their own. PPE can consist of a face mask, an apron, gloves and splash goggles. This means that things look quite different, but once again, the aim is to keep everyone safe.
Have you been to a corona virus ‘hot spot’?
If you have visited an area that has been classified ‘red’ or ‘orange’ due to coronavirus cases, you must spend 10 days in quarantine at home when you return. Should you have an appointment at our hospital during that time, please contact us before you come to the hospital.
On the website www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl, you can see which areas are considered high-risk.
